Simon Brand’s Story
One could confidently say that Simon Brand was born to sell and install shades, interior shutters and blinds. As a child, Simon’s Mother and Father owned and operated a window treatment business, Brand Custom Draperies, in Northern Virginia. Simon gained valuable experience as a teenager by helping his father measure for custom window coverings, build cornices, swags and jabots and by helping with the installations.
It wasn’t long before a new trend started to develop in the window fashions industry – shades, interior shutters and blinds. Simon took that wealth of knowledge and in 1998 formed “Expert Installations, Inc.” Expert Installations, Inc. provides top quality window coverings to Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand including North Myrtle Beach, Pawleys Island and Georgetown, SC.

Renaming the company under the banner “Shore Blinds and Shutters” is helping to strengthen our position and build greater brand awareness in the Myrtle Beach area. We strive to offer better price breaks to customers on name brand window coverings from North Myrtle Beach to Pawleys Island.”

Our Home in Nosara
Simon is well-known in Myrtle Beach, SC and has built a trusted reputation in the window fashion business. As a frequent vacationer to Costa Rica through the years, Simon and his family made the investment and purchased their home in Nosara in 2022. Simon could not find a local window shade company for their new home. So, in true fashion, he ordered his own products and installed them himself and then realized there was a need for his service for other homeowners in Nosara and surrounding beach communities. He has now partnered with Santiago Pellegrini, a resident of Nosara, and together they bring their skills and experience to Costa Rica and surrounding beach communities.

Santiago Pellegrini’s Story
“With over a decade of entrepreneurial experience, my journey began with studying medicine for five years until I discovered my true passion for gastronomy. I decided to pursue a degree in Gastronomy and, together with a dedicated team, we became pioneers in the Food Truck scene in Argentina, transforming a modest project into a gastronomic production company. The arrival of the pandemic pushed me to reinvent myself and start anew in Costa Rica.
Since arriving in Costa Rica, my objective has always been to embark on ventures that are closely related to the environment and sustainability. This commitment to eco-conscious practices continues to inspire me, guiding my efforts as I merge my passion for innovation with a dedication to preserving our natural surroundings.
Today, with that experience and the drive of personal sacrifice, I embark on a new challenge with Shading Nosara alongside Simón. Our goal is to provide innovative and personalized solutions in window treatment sales, helping you transform and refresh your spaces.
